Great Oaks care home in Bournemouth teamed up with the international reusable bottle brand, bobble, to celebrate National Hydration Week.
The objective of National Hydration Week, which ran from 12th-18th March, is to promote the importance of being hydrated to maintain people’s health and wellbeing, with particular importance for the elderly. Each resident and member of staff at Great Oaks has been provided with a complimentary bobble reusable water bottle to encourage hydration.
Sue Goktas, Great Oaks’ Activities Manager, also organised for residents to take part in a fruit cocktail workshop which demonstrated some fun and creative ways to stay hydrated throughout the day.
Ian MacDonald, Care Home Manager of Great Oaks, said: “We are so grateful to bobble for providing us with the complimentary water bottles for our residents and staff. Hydration is an important part of our residents’ care, which we focus on all year round, and the generous gift of bobbles will help us to continue to ensure our residents are maintaining the correct levels of hydration in a sustainable way.
“Our in-house catering team are always thinking of new creative ways to incorporate food and beverages into our residents’ daily diet. Smoothies have proven to be so popular with our residents that we now offer the option of a smoothie on our daily breakfast menu.”
