First phase of multi-million Nottinghamshire care village creates 200 jobs

First phase of multi-million Nottinghamshire care village creates 200 jobs

The opening of Greenacres Grange marks the completion of the first phase of a multi-million pound new care village in Worksop.

The town’s first care village, constructed by Horizon Care, upon completion will bring 200 full time and part time jobs to the Nottinghamshire area.

The new centre was officially unveiled yesterday by Cllr Madeline Richardson, Vice Chair of Bassetlaw District Council.

The centre comprises living accommodation for individuals with varied care needs across four care units, each supporting up to 20 individuals.

The units include assisted living, dementia support, and rehabilitation and specialist support services.

Greenacres Grange is the first stage of a multi-million pound investment into Worksop by Dinnington-based Horizon Care.

Laura Higginbottom, Managing Director, Horizon Care, said: “The opening of Greenacres Grange marks the completion of the first phase of what we hope will become our flagship care village.

“We recognised there was an acute shortage of high quality care provisions within Worksop and we wanted use our skills, knowledge and expertise to help individuals living within the town. Over the past two years we have invested significantly in transforming the site of the former Greenacres Training Centre into what will become the first purpose-built care village within Worksop.

“We have spent many years developing our offering and the opening of opening Greenacres Grange marks a significant milestone in our bid to provide high quality care and support for people living in Worksop.”

Work began on Greenacres Grange in 2013 after Horizon secured planning permission to transform a former adult training centre located on the site.
