Bright Care appoints new manager in Glasgow

Karen McGregor ’will bring a wealth of expertise’ to Bright Care

Bright Care has expanded its senior management team as it continues to grow its staff numbers, turnover and geographical reach.

The Scottish domiciliary care provider has appointed Karen McGregor as manager at its Glasgow office in Clarkston, in a role which will have an increasingly strategic dimension as the company's growth strategy unfolds.

Mrs McGregor, 55, is a Registered Nurse who has held senior level management roles at a number of care homes for older people in the course of her career. More recently, she has been involved in strategic planning and development of care services with Glasgow City Council.

Tim Cocking, Founder and Director of Bright Care, said: “We are naturally delighted to have been able to attract someone of Karen McGregor's calibre. She is hugely experienced and has an intimate knowledge of the workings of the care system. She will bring a wealth of expertise to the Glasgow office and will assume group-wide managerial responsibilities as the company continues its growth trajectory.”

Mrs McGregor commented: “Bright Care is a company which shares my enthusiasm for providing the highest possible standards of service and quality of care for older people to assist them to maintain their independence and live in their own homes. I am joining a team which has proved itself to be extremely forward-looking and is dedicated to the welfare of both its clients and its staff.”

Bright Care has offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow and East Dunbartonshire and is planning to create at least 18 new jobs with the opening of a new office in Perth in the summer of 2015.
