Two employees of care group Anchor Hanover have triumphed to win accolades at the prestigious Great British Care Awards, which recognise excellence across the care sector.
Katie Davock, Care Assistant from Montrose Hall in Wigan, was named as the country’s best Care Home Newcomer, whilst Brian McNaught from Birkenhead Court in Merseyside celebrated receiving the Care Home Assessor award.
The Great British Care Awards pay tribute to individuals who have gone the extra mile to help improve the lives of residents within their care.
The national final, held in the ICC in Birmingham, brought together the winners from nine regions to celebrate outstanding people who work in the care sector.
Presenting Katie with the Care Home Newcomer award, the panel of judges commented that, despite only having worked in care for just over two years, Katie was incredibly enthusiastic about her role and demonstrated an understanding of person-centred care, well beyond her years.
Judges also noted that Brian demonstrated a clear vision, passion and dedication to the people in his care, as well as their families and staff at Birkenhead Court. He was also praised for his innovation and creativity in making sure personalised plans reflected complex care for residents.
Mark Greaves, Managing Director, Care Services for Anchor Hanover, said: “These are fantastic personal achievements and a reflection of the quality and dedication demonstrated by Katie and Brian.
“We are very proud that Katie and Brian have been recognised nationally for their work and, as an organisation, we are committed to providing high quality care and services to residents with changing needs.
“Our dedicated and highly trained care teams understand that no two people are the same. We offer personally tailored residential care within the warm, safe and friendly surroundings of Anchor’s care homes.”
