Recognition For Springhill
Accrington-based Springhill Care Group has won a series of awards at a major regional ceremony marking the region’s best carers.

Springhill Care provides a wide range of long-term personalised care and support for adults and older people, including those requiring nursing care, specialist dementia care, specialist end of life care and those with other complex healthcare needs.

The Outstanding Contribution to Social Care Award went to Kath Parkinson, Director of Quality and Compliance for the care group, at the North West heats of the Great British Care Awards.

Affinity Supporting People, Springhill Group’s supported living service, won the Care Employer Award, with Affinity’s Andy Grayston taking Care Newcomer Award and Leah Whelan scooping the Front Line Leader Award.

Emma Kay of Springhill Group’s Birch Green Care Home, based at Skelmersdale, also won the Good Nurse Award.

Speaking about the awards Director of Quality and Compliance at Springhill Care Group, Kath Parkinson commented: “It’s gratifying to be chosen in this category and to be recognised at this level. We have a real team ethic at Springhill that goes across all of the homes and everyone working in them.”

Ken Nolan, Chairman of Springhill Care Group, said: “I'm incredibly proud of our staff. Winning so many awards across different parts of our organisation is fantastic recognition. The competition is tough and seeks to recognise and celebrate the very best in care and support in our region.

Held in Manchester, the awards are one of the care sector’s top events, showcasing the best work in the industry, with winners from regional competitions going on to a national final.
