ENCORE FUNDRAISES FOR ALZHEIMER’S SOCIETY WITH CHARITY ELF DAY

Encore Care Homes, which manages Great Oaks in Bournemouth and Fairmile Grange in Christchurch, has raised £75 for the Alzheimer’s Society by hosting an ‘Elf Day’ for its residents and members of the team.

Encore Care Homes, which manages Great Oaks in Bournemouth and Fairmile Grange in Christchurch, has raised £75 for the Alzheimer’s Society by hosting an ‘Elf Day’ for its residents and members of the team.

Each team member donated to the Alzheimer’s Society in exchange for taking part in the festive day by dressing up as an elf.

All who took part enjoyed playing games and had a festive-themed afternoon tea while listening to Christmas music and dancing.

It is important to Encore to support local community projects and charities, and often holds fundraising events and takes part in challenges to help raise money for the worthy causes.
Back in the summer, Great Oaks’ home administrator, Sarah Sims, took part in the Jurassic Coast Mighty Hike to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. In total, £700 was raised through Sarah’s hard work and dedication to the hike, as well as a coffee morning held at the home.

Melany Wood, architect for Encore Care Homes, was proud to complete Bournemouth’s first Memory Walk, organised by the Alzheimer’s Society. Melany walked 8km in one hour and 25 minutes and raised £150 for the charity.

Regular events are also held that welcome the local community into the home, such as open days and themed celebrations.
