Residents and staff at Chandos Lodge care home in Stourbridge recently enjoyed a ‘spooktastic’ day of fun, as it welcomed guests for a Halloween-themed fundraising event.
Over 50 people, including residents, their families and local businesses, joined together to raise hundreds of pounds for the home’s residents’ fund – money which is playing a key role in making a difference to the lives of residents.
Pauline Whitehouse, Activities Coordinator at Chandos Lodge, said: “Days out for our residents are so important, so it’s vital we do all we can to raise money for trips and events which help maintain a varied and high quality of life. Our recent trip to the local cinema is just one example where we look to stimulate our residents as much as possible.
“Our Halloween party was brilliant fun and was just the latest in our events calendar. It was great to see so many people dressed in amazing costumes and joining in some games for everyone to enjoy. Local businesses and the community also backed the event with prizes which we are so grateful for.”
The Clarendon Care Group, which owns and operates Chandos Lodge and six other homes in Worcestershire and Warwickshire, believes community involvement, seasonal events and socialising have been key to providing a high quality of life for residents in its homes across the region.
Aside from Chandos Lodge, Claredon Care Group also operates Arden Park and Kenilworth Manor in Warwickshire, alongside Worcestershire homes the Shrubbery, Northwick Grange, The Forresters and Redwood House.
Chandos Lodge is registered with the Care Quality Commission as a care home for 34 residents.
