‘A Day in the Life’ as Birch Green opens Cavern Club room
The ‘Cavern’, named after the Liverpool club that was the birthplace of the Beatles, is decorated with mementoes and props from the swinging sixties to bring back memories of the era for Birch Green’s residents.
The project was part of a refurbishment of the home’s dementia suite. Birch Green’s general manager said the project would not have been possible without the support of friends and family members. The Cavern Club itself even donated some gifts for the walls.
The Cavern was officially opened by tribute act the Pretend Beatles. The Mayor, Councillor Nikki Hennessy, and her consort were on hand to see the official opening.
Carol Nickeas of Birch Green commented: “Everyone had a fantastic afternoon for the opening of the suite and The Pretend Beatles had us all up singing and dancing.
“We were thrilled to welcome everyone into our home and hope the dementia suite and the Cavern room are a constant reminder of this fantastic day.”
