The Care Workers’ Charity (CWC) is set to unveil the findings from its recent roundtable discussions on the future of adult social care in England at an exclusive online launch event on 6th March from 12:00 to 1:00pm.
The roundtables, held in November 2024, brought together care workers, people drawing on care, unpaid carers, providers, commissioners, and sector leaders to explore the role of a National Care Service (NCS) and the reforms needed in social care. While the concept of an NCS was widely seen as a positive step, discussions made clear that it must be properly resourced to be effective and sustainable. Participants emphasised the need for social care to be valued as a sector in its own right, distinct from but working alongside the NHS, and called for a wider national conversation about how we recognise and value care in society. Workforce issues were also central to the discussions, with calls for fair pay, better training opportunities, and clear career progression to ensure care work is recognised as a skilled profession. The event will provide an opportunity to hear these key insights, reflect on the discussions, and continue shaping the future of social care together.
Why Attend?
- Be the first to hear the key findings and recommendations from our in-depth discussions.

The event is open to everyone who participated in the discussions, as well as those interested in learning more, contributing their perspectives, and continuing the conversation. Following the presentation of findings, there will be time for open discussion to explore how we can work together to drive change.
