Two Bluebird Care employees were recently presented with awards by their local mayor, for their commitment to their roles, at the company’s annual awards ceremony.

The Mayor of Dartford, Councillor Roger Perfitt, attended the event, which was held in a coffee shop, to hand over the awards to the care assistants from Bluebird Care Gravesham and Dartford.

Tracey Danton scooped Bluebird Care’s ‘Live-in Care Assistant of the Year Award’ for the regional offices that include Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells, Maidstone, Dover and Folkestone, and Gravesham and Dartford. This was in recognition of her outstanding contribution as a live-in care assistant, having worked for Bluebird Care Gravesham and Dartford for six years.

Liz Farrington, Live-in Care Manager at Bluebird Care Gravesham and Dartford, said: “Tracey, is an inspiration and I am so proud to work with her every day. The support she provides is amazing and I think she is a fantastic ambassador for Bluebird Care. Her customers and their family members absolutely love her and are lucky to have her!”

Tracey was delighted to win Live-in Care Assistant of the Year, adding: “I would like to thank everyone who nominated me for this award. I work in care because of the way it makes me glow inside and could not ask for more.”

Sarah Dewan was presented with Bluebird Care Gravesham and Dartford’s Care Assistant of the Year Award, having worked there for three years. Sarah was nominated for this award by her colleagues, after Bluebird Care Gravesham and Dartford received some incredible feedback.

Catherine and Phillipa, daughters of one of Sarah’s customers, said: “Sarah is beyond wonderful. She doesn’t just help our Mum; she helps us all. We know we can depend on her 100% and that she genuinely cares about Mum. She is thoughtful, kind, has a radiant smile and Mum loves her company. Having someone come and not just help you with daily struggles, but also to bring friendship and laughter makes life worth living again. Sarah is an inspiration and an absolute credit!”

When she received the award, Sarah said: “I would like to thank my customers for the lovely comments that they have given and for the honour of being Care Assistant of The Year. I do what I do because I love making a difference and to be recognised in this way really is just lovely!”
