Barchester Healthcare is celebrating after receiving a prestigious award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) for their contribution to occupational health and safety in the healthcare sector.

Barchester Healthcare is celebrating after receiving a prestigious award, from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), for their contribution to occupational health and safety in the healthcare sector.

Having previously won two RoSPA ‘Gold’ awards and ‘Commended’ in the whole care sector, Barchester was once again entered into the competitive ‘Healthcare Provider’ category this year. To the company’s delight, it has this year received the ‘Healthcare Services Award: ‘Highly Commended’, a Major National Sector Award.

The RoSPA Awards scheme, which receives entries from organisations around the world, recognises achievement in health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.

Paul Mason, Director of Health and Safety at Barchester said: “We are delighted to have received such a prestigious award, in recognition for maintaining the highest level of health and safety management throughout Barchester homes and hospitals. Winning this is testimony to the commitment shown by all staff employed by the group and the importance and focus placed on health and safety by Barchester’s Executive management team.”

Julia Small, RoSPA’s Head of Qualifications, Awards and Events, said: “The RoSPA Awards are the most highly-respected in the health and safety arena, with almost 2,000 entrants every year, and allow organisations to prove excellence in the workplace, demonstrating a commitment to the wellbeing of not only employees but all those who interact with it.”

The award was presented during a ceremony at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole hotel on Wednesday 4th July 2018.
