Stocks Hall Burscough Care Home decided to ‘join and swap their hearts’ by reaching out and sharing love to others, as a show of solidarity following the recent terror attacks in the UK.
Some of the people living at Stocks Hall Burscough Home, supported by Activities staff member Leanne, made hearts and sent them to London to show their love and support for others who were hurting.
The idea was originally inspired by Beth Clarke who took to social media to see who would be interested in showing solidarity following the Manchester terrorist attack on 22nd May. Well-wishers and community support rose and a love-sharing campaign went around the globe in a matter of days.
This heart-warming gesture continued after the latest London terrorist incident.
Leanne said: “I recently received these hearts from a lovely lady called Jeanette from the Isle of Man. Jeanette had originally said she would like to swap a heart with one resident at Stocks Hall Burscough Home but later decided to send a heart for every person living here.
“It is so wonderful to see the impact that swapping and sharing heart’s has on each other.
“Since starting this project a little over two weeks ago, we have had people from USA, Australia, Scotland and all over the UK wanting to swap a heart. We at Stocks Hall Burscough Home plan to make more hearts over the coming weeks, ready to send out to others.”
