Signature at Eastbourne received a heart-warming note from the Queen, after the care home shared its planned activities to mark her Platinum Jubilee.
This year will see the 95-year-old became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth.
With the help of Activities Coordinator Sara Connor, Signature at Eastbourne wrote to Her Majesty, informing her of the activities they had planned to mark the special occasion, including a street party in June.
Residents and Team Members received a heart-warming response from the Queen who expressed her gratitude for their kind words to celebrate her remarkable 70 years since her ascension to the throne.
Also enclosed was a response letter on behalf of the Queen from the lady-in-waiting reiterating HRH’s joy in receiving Signature at Eastbourne’s celebratory letter. Residents and colleagues alike found it touching to receive such a timely Royal response.
Sara commented: ‘We are all genuinely astonished that HRH has responded to our letter, as despite our eagerness we were all fully aware the Queen has many responsibilities. It has definitely been an unexpected source of delight for all of us here in Signature at Eastbourne!’.
Residents and colleagues are so thrilled with the royal response that the note and letter is framed in the Signature at Eastbourne front room, in a proud display for all visitors to see ahead of their upcoming jubilee celebrations.
