NORTHFLEET COMMUNITY BRING SMILES TO LOCAL CARE HOME

Local children in Northfleet have been sending poems, paintings, letters and messages of positivity to residents of Dene Holm Residential Care Home.

With visits on hold, the warm gestures are intended to put a smile on the faces of those in the care home and lift their spirits during a time of uncertainty.

Christine Hutchinson, General Manager of Dene Holm, said: “Letters are a bit of a thing of the past and some residents haven’t received one for years, so you can imagine that it was really lovely when so much post dropped through the letterbox.

“The residents really enjoyed reading through it all and looking at the bright pictures that children had drawn for them. The engagement is great for the residents’ wellbeing and it is such a kind and touching gesture. We’d just like to say thank you to anyone who sent something into us, it would be great to keep this going as the difficult times continue.”
