Home Instead Senior Care held a prestigious gathering at Chester Cathedral to celebrate the opening of its 200th UK office.

Providing home-based care and companionship to more than 14,000 seniors across the UK, Home Instead is a franchise business that has grown significantly since opening its first office in 2006.

Attendees at the event included Martin Jones, Managing Director of Home Instead; Dave Banark, COO of Home Instead US & Canada and Bryn and Jill Evans – the original and existing owners of the first Home Instead office which opened in Sheffield in 2006. Guest of honour was Romesh Dharmasingham who is opening the company’s 200th office in Dorchester.

Commenting on the important milestone, Dave Banark, said: “In the UK, people over 65 make up more than 18% of the population, and the fastest growing segment of the population is those people aged 85 and over. The shift is transforming markets, workplaces and communities.

“For now, and the foreseeable future, innovative business solutions like Home Instead will play an important role in how people age better and will therefore create new opportunities for the growth of our business.”

Speaking of joining Home Instead, Romesh stated: “It is truly an honour to open the 200th office of this fine organisation. This is an inspirational business which is making such a difference to the lives of older people and I look forward to contributing to its future success.”

Speaking at the event, Martin Jones welcomed Romesh saying: “We are delighted that Romesh has opened his office in Dorchester. The need for care is growing as our population ages, and it’s important for us to be represented right across the country.

“We have achieved so much since we opened our first UK office in 2006. We now employ 9,700 caregivers and provide outstanding person-centred care to more than 14,000 clients – but we will never stand still.

“Welcome to Romesh and I look forward to following his success as Home Instead Dorchester begins work.”
