Gracewell Healthcare’s Ascot home is hosting a free local community initiative to support people living with impaired memory.
Gracewell of Ascot, which provides high-quality, personalised residential, nursing and dementia care, will launch its ‘Memories and Music’ Club on 30th March. The aim of the group is to combat loneliness and isolation in the area.
The club is open to any older person and their carers and it is free of charge. The club will be a sociable environment, featuring live musical entertainment, coffee, cake and great company. It will be hosted on the last Monday of every month, from 10.30 am to 12 noon.
All will get an opportunity to spend time with Gracewell of Ascot’s team of dedicated and expert care staff, who will be on hand to help when needed.
Stella Putt, General Manager at Gracewell of Ascot, said: “We know loneliness is a huge issue amongst older people, and it is great to be able to invite local people to join us for events at our lovely home. It also means our residents are able to make new friends and they can feel involved within the wider Ascot community. We are all really excited to launch the Memories and Music club!”
Gracewell of Ascot regularly hosts events aimed at helping those with dementia. On Saturday 28th March, they will be hosting ‘The World Rocks Against Dementia’. For this event, any local families affected by or living with dementia can go to the home to enjoy a rock and roll musician, refreshments and a chat from 2:30pm onwards.
Booking is not required for either event, but for more information call: 01344 937800.
