On Sunday 6th October, Aura Care Living's King's Lodge care home hosted a silent disco in celebration of Silver Sunday.
Silver Sunday is a special day in the national calendar when everyone can come together to celebrate older people. The day is aimed to help older people feel valued, experience new opportunities to get out of the house, keep their minds and bodies active, learn new skills, make new friends and connect with the communities and generations around them.
Aura worked with company Radioactive8 to put on the disco, which was an enormous success. Music is well known for its therapeutic values, improving wellbeing and positively.
Aura Care Living regularly puts on such events for both residents and local communities surrounding both of their Camberley and Cirencester sites. The company places huge emphasis on integrating with the local communities for the benefit of both their residents and to help include other elderly people living alone.
