Home care provider Bluebird Care Greenwich has won the Workforce Development Award at the Royal Greenwich Business Awards.
The Award recognises businesses that have demonstrated exemplary care towards their workforce, as well as the Greenwich community.
Bluebird Care Greenwich was nominated for the outstanding training and development of their staff, who go above and beyond for the local community every single day. Its care assistants are provided with the key training and support required to treat their customers with skill, respect, warmth and compassion.
Bluebird Care Greenwich was established in 2012 and, since then, has provided a service of tailored personal care visits to ensure each customer gets the required support. The home care provider specialises in working with customers who live with dementia, physical disabilities and a range of other conditions. Its services include personal care, as well as meal preparation, shopping and household tasks. The dedicated care assistants can adapt to the level of care a customer requires, which can range from 30-minute visits up to full live-in support.
Bluebird Care Greenwich attributes its impressive staff retention rate to various schemes including ‘Carer of the Month’ and ‘Refer a Friend’. Training is offered for a minimum of 12 weeks at the start of a Bluebird Care career, with continued support and supervision. Central to this, its award-winning e-learning programme offers training in areas including dementia, infection control and customer care policies.
The Royal Greenwich Business Award’s ceremony was held at the InterContinental London at The 02 on Friday 6th March.
