BLUEBIRD CARE CONTINUES #FEBRUARYFRIENDS CAMPAIGN TO TACKLE LONELINESS

Lana and Amy-Leigh from Bluebird Care Coleraine also shared what they love about their friendship

The Bluebird Care team have been encouraging people to celebrate special friendships with each other and the world in the hope of tackling loneliness.

Although the main event during February was Valentine’s Day, Bluebird Care have focused on the love between friends and have been running a #FebruaryFriends campaign to bring people together.

This campaign encouraged people to celebrate a special friendship they have. The team were looking for anything from friendships between office staff, care assistants, customers and their care assistants and customers and their friends. It could be a friendship that has lasted 70 years or one that started last month.

The Bluebird Care network were invited to decide who would be their #FebruaryFriend and write down each other’s names, and why they are their friend. They then had to join the pages together to make a ‘heart’ shape, take a photo and share it on social media using the hashtag #FebruaryFriends.

Bluebird Care teams across the country jumped into action and started sharing posts about their special friends. Kay and Dani from Bluebird Care Mid & West Cornwall shared what they love about their friendship. Dani told of how Kay makes her laugh and Kay explained that Dani is always there for her. Lana and Amy-Leigh from Bluebird Care Coleraine also shared what they love about their friendship. Amy-Leigh is Lana’s go to person and Lana thinks her and Amy-Leigh work well together.

Commenting on the campaign, Katie Holloway, Social Media Manager at Bluebird Care, said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed organising another of these campaigns for the network. It is truly wonderful to see people coming together and making an effort for each other and spreading the love. An activity like this is small and only takes up five minutes of your day but it gets people thinking about who is really important in their lives and how they and help other people to brighten up their days.”
