A new experience coordinator has been appointed at Belong Warrington, bringing with her 25 years’ experience in dementia and end of life care.
Carol Norman, 40, will take over as the lead for all activities, events and entertainment for customers at the state-of-the-art care village.
Carol will be responsible for the village’s experience days programme, utilising her extensive personal links locally to provide activities, including arts and crafts, exercise sessions and poetry readings, to customers and the wider Warrington community.
Alongside her new post, Carol will continue working towards her NVQ level 5 leadership and management qualification, which is due for completion in spring this year.
Originally from Portsmouth, Carol moved with her family to Warrington and, at the age of 16, began her career as a care assistant on a work experience placement. Since then, she has undertaken a variety of roles in dementia and palliative care across the north west and has spent the last five years working at Belong.
A familiar face at the Loushers Lane village, Carol moves to her new post from her previous role of lead senior support worker, a position she held for two years. In 2018, the care village recieved the Gold Standards Framework Quality Hallmark Award for demonstrating excellence in standards for end of life care.
Commenting on her appointment, Carol Norman said: “I’m excited at the prospect of taking up the role of experience coordinator. I like to make a difference to people’s lives and I’m really looking forward to bringing fun, lively activities that get the whole village and our local community involved.”
