NORWICH CARE HOME CELEBRATES ‘OUTSTANDING’ CQC TRIUMPH

Badgers Wood CQC Report

A Norwich-based care home is celebrating after receiving an ‘Outstanding’ rating from the Care Quality Commission.

The values of Badgers Wood Care Home in Drayton, were praised in the recent review carried out by independent inspectors.

A CQC report judges a care home on its levels of care, responsiveness, safety, effectiveness, and leadership and includes comments from residents and their relatives. This report is Badgers Woods’ first since 2016, when it was rated “Good”.

Commenting on the achievement, the home’s registered manager, Anne Riches, said: “We are delighted with our latest CQC report, which is testament to the passion, dedication and hard work of our staff at Badgers Wood.

“We all pride ourselves on delivering individualised and person-centred care to enable our residents to have maximum choice and to live as fulfilling a life as possible.”

Of Anne’s leadership, one staff member said: “"She is so good, it's not often you see a manager go around helping as much as she does. She lives and breathes the place. I love working here.”

Larchwood Care’s Chief Executive Officer, Tony Stein, said: “This CQC rating is an incredible accolade which shows just how hardworking and passionate Anne and the team at Badgers Wood really are.

“We are absolutely committed to delivering the highest standards of service for all of our residents.”

Badgers Wood, which is part of Larchwood Care Homes, provides residential care for up to 37 people.
